About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join a product development team focused on the design and development of structural chassis components for a common automotive platform.
The role is primarily focused on CAD design and product development, combined with planning, coordination, and follow-up activities to ensure product maturity and timely delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and customers throughout the product development process.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop structural chassis components for automotive applications.
Create, modify, and maintain 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5.
Develop components including:
Perform basic engineering calculations to support design decisions.
Develop, establish, and follow up on test and validation plans.
Support simulation activities when required.
Investigate and resolve field quality and product-related issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal customers.
Plan and follow up on activities to ensure product maturity and timely deliveries.
Independently drive assigned activities from initial design through implementation..
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in design engineering and mechanical product development.
Previous experience within the automotive industry.
Previous experience working with the end client's organization and development environment.
Hands-on experience with relevant engineering and product development systems, including:
Strong practical experience with CATIA V5.
Proven experience creating and maintaining 2D manufacturing drawings.
Strong understanding and practical experience with GD&T and tolerance chain analysis.
Experience designing structural mechanical components.
