This is an exciting time to join Vysus Group, a global engineering and technical consultancy at the forefront of the energy transition. As nuclear energy plays an increasingly important role in delivering secure, reliable and low-carbon power, we are expanding our nuclear capabilities across Sweden and internationally.
We are looking for talented and motivated professionals to join our growing team and contribute to innovative projects spanning nuclear safety, risk management, licensing and the next generation of reactor technologies, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).
The nuclear sector is entering a new era of growth, driven by plant life extension programmes, new nuclear developments and the accelerating deployment of advanced reactors and SMRs. At Vysus, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that make a real impact while developing your career alongside some of the industry's leading experts.
Whether supporting operating nuclear facilities, advanced reactor developers, research organisations or regulatory authorities, you will help deliver solutions that contribute to a safe and sustainable energy future.
As a Nuclear Consultant, you will support the delivery of nuclear safety, risk and licensing projects for clients across Sweden and internationally. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to technically challenging assignments while developing your expertise across a broad range of nuclear disciplines.
Our clients include nuclear power plant operators, SMR developers, research facilities, industrial organisations and regulatory bodies.
In this role, you will:
- Perform deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments (DSA and PSA), including fault tree and event tree analyses.
- Support the development of licensing and safety documentation, including Preliminary Safety Analysis Reports (PSARs) and other regulatory submissions.
- Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses, with a particular focus on radiation-related hazards.
- Apply risk-informed approaches to support the design and development of new nuclear facilities and technologies.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning activities.
- Use specialist software and analytical tools, including RiskSpectrum, Python-based applications and other industry-standard methodologies.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions for clients.
- Contribute to the continuous development of technical capabilities and best practices within the business.
We're looking for individuals who are curious, analytical and passionate about the role nuclear energy can play in a sustainable future.
You will ideally have:
- An MSc degree in Nuclear Engineering, Risk Management, Physics, Mathematics or a related technical discipline.
- A strong interest in nuclear safety, risk assessment and licensing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English.
- The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive approach to learning, professional development and client service.
Experience with nuclear safety assessments, licensing activities, RiskSpectrum, Python or related analytical tools would be advantageous, but we also welcome candidates looking to further develop these skills.
At Vysus Group, we are committed to helping our people grow and thrive.
We offer:
- The opportunity to work with a global, multidisciplinary team of nuclear specialists.
- Exposure to innovative projects across advanced reactors, SMRs and nuclear safety.
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
- A modern office environment in Stockholm.
- Structured career development, training and mentoring opportunities.
- A collaborative and supportive culture where your ideas and contributions are valued.
As part of our recruitment process, Vysus Group reserves the right to undertake background checks on shortlisted candidates.
Due to the nature of our work within the nuclear industry, successful candidates may also be required to participate in security clearance processes where applicable.
