Reports to: COO
Nofence built the world's first virtual fencing solution for livestock. We're a Norwegian scale-up on a mission to make grazing radically simpler and more sustainable for farmers everywhere, and we're growing fast. To scale well, we need the systems, data, and infrastructure underneath the company to be as good as the product on the animal's neck. That's where you come in.
This is a build role, not a caretaker role. We're hiring for execution.
Your first and most important mission is to implement a new ERP and a new e-commerce platform, fast and clean. The strategic groundwork is done and we have a clear view of where we're headed, so this is about delivery, not another long evaluation. These platforms are the foundation our next phase of growth runs on, and speed matters. You'll then own the wider business technology function: the internal systems, data, and infrastructure that let every team at Nofence move faster.
You won't do this alone. You'll work hand in hand with our commercial team and the infrastructure engineers in our tech organization to make it happen. Your job is to rally those people around a goal and get it across the line.
You'll combine strategy with real hands-on delivery. At our size, that means you're still in the room for the implementation, not just the steering committee. You set the direction, and you also make it happen.
You'll own the business technology roadmap, budget, and delivery, and you'll make sure every investment is cost-effective, secure, and tied to a clear business outcome.
ERP. Implement a new ERP on an aggressive timeline with minimal disruption to the business. The direction is set; your job is to make it real.
E-commerce. Stand up a new e-commerce solution that supports our direct and partner sales motion across markets.
Make these stick. Drive the change management, data migration, integrations, and adoption that turn "go-live" into "actually working," in close partnership with commercial and the infrastructure engineers in our tech team.
If implementing core platforms fast, and well, is the work you find most satisfying, this role is built for you.
Strategy and platforms Define and execute Nofence's business technology strategy and enterprise architecture. Act as product owner for our core platforms, managing roadmaps, partners, and delivery. Set pragmatic standards for interoperability and integration, and keep technical debt honest.
Data and BI Establish lightweight, fit-for-purpose data governance and quality standards with clear ownership. Build toward a trusted single source of truth and self-service analytics that people actually use.
AI enablement Make sure our systems, data, and infrastructure are ready to support AI tools across the company, working alongside the teams driving adoption. You enable it; you don't own the rollout.
Security, risk and compliance Own information security, privacy, and compliance. Run vendor assessments, keep us audit-ready, and maintain sensible business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Operations and reliability Maintain secure, resilient, scalable infrastructure and end-user IT services (device lifecycle, provisioning, support) without letting them eat the strategic work.
Vendors and spend Own the partner and vendor landscape. Negotiate contracts, manage SLAs, and keep SaaS and cloud spend transparent and under control.
Team and end-user IT Decide how we best cover day-to-day end-user IT (laptops, access, phones) — whether that's a first hire reporting to you or an outsourced partner — and shape the IT organization from there as we grow.
This role is about business technology: the internal systems, data, and infrastructure that power how Nofence runs.
Our Product & Engineering teams keep full ownership of customer-facing technology, development frameworks, and cloud architecture. You'll partner closely with them to ensure data flows cleanly and securely across the company, but you're not running product tech, and they're not running yours. Clear lines, close collaboration.
The non-negotiables:
You have personally led an ERP and/or e-commerce implementation end to end, ideally on a tight timeline, and you can talk in detail about what went right and what you'd never do again.
You're a doer who rallies people. You set a goal, get the right people moving, and make stuff happen. We're hiring for execution, not for presentations. If your strength is talking about the work rather than shipping it, this isn't the role.
Beyond that:
7+ years in IT / business technology leadership, ideally in a fast-growing international scale-up
A genuine player-coach who's comfortable being hands-on with a small team, not just directing one
Strong grounding in enterprise systems and integrations (ERP, CRM, e-commerce, process automation)
Solid command of IT security, privacy, and compliance, applied pragmatically rather than bureaucratically
Experience owning an IT budget and managing vendors and SaaS/cloud spend
Excellent communication and the ability to align stakeholders at every level
Fluent in English (Norwegian or Swedish is a plus)
You'll get end-to-end ownership of business technology at a mission-driven company that's genuinely changing how livestock is managed. You'll make foundational decisions, see them go live quickly, and watch them make the whole company faster. If you like strategic influence and getting your hands dirty, you'll feel at home here.
Apply through Teamtailor and tell us about an implementation you're proud of, what you owned, and how fast you got it live.
