Computational Linguistics is an interdisciplinary research field that deals with computational models of natural language. Computational Linguistics is also a research and teaching profile at the Department of Linguistics, alongside General Linguistics, Child Language Development, Phonetics, and Sign Language (please visit the department's website at www.ling.su.se). Research in Computational Linguistics has been conducted at the Department of Linguistics since the 1960s. The current research focuses on the analysis of both contemporary and historical texts from different eras and places in many different languages, with applications in language technology and digital humanities.
