As a Production Scheduler, you will play a central role in managing the short-term scheduling of materials required for efficient steel mill operations. Working as part of a dedicated team of four planner/schedulers within the Shipping and Planning Department at our Stegra facility, you will coordinate closely with production planning, the commercial team, and mill managers. Your primary focus will be ensuring a continuous material flow by planning production on a daily and weekly basis, enabling smooth execution and delivery in a dynamic industrial environment paired with a strong focus on data analytics.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily and weekly production of the company’s steel products.
- Evaluate raw material availability and equipment readiness to ensure smooth production operations.
- Monitor and control production-related costs to stay within set budgets.
- Report production progress, disruptions, and operational challenges to upper management.
- Collaborate with key departments including production planning, commercial teams, and mill management.
- Respond to production issues by initiating corrective actions and minimizing downtime.
- Identify and implement methods to enhance productivity and reduce production costs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Complete all tasks as directed by the manager and fulfill all assigned responsibilities.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree or related technical field or any other related field including data analytics.
